SLYCE Alliance Ethos

Overview

The SLYCE Alliance operates on a set of core cultural and operational principles designed to maintain a positive, cooperative, and sustainable environment for all member corporations and pilots.

This ethos defines what the alliance is, how it operates, and the expectations placed upon its members.

Core Values

The SLYCE Alliance is built upon the following foundational principles:

  • Real life (RL) takes priority over EVE Online
  • Member corporations are retained based on maintaining a positive and constructive attitude
  • The alliance culture is built around cooperation, respect, and long-term stability

These values are central to maintaining a healthy and sustainable alliance environment.

Alliance Identity

The SLYCE Alliance explicitly defines itself as:

  • Not pirates
  • Not griefers
  • Not gankers
  • Not scammers

Members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the alliance at all times.

Rules of Engagement

SLYCE operates different engagement policies depending on space and security status:

  • High Security Space: NRDS (Not Red, Don’t Shoot)
  • Low Security Space: NPSI (Not Purple, Shoot It)
  • Null Security Space: NBSI (Not Blue, Shoot It)
  • Wormhole Space: NPSI (Not Purple, Shoot It)

Members are required to follow the appropriate engagement rules depending on the operational environment.

Mandatory Participation

SLYCE maintains a flexible approach to participation.

  • There are very few mandatory requirements for members
  • Exceptions include participation in:
    • Low security operations
    • Null security operations
    • Alliance deployments
    • CTA (Call to Arms) fleets

Outside of these scenarios, members are encouraged to enjoy the game in their own preferred playstyle.

Cultural Philosophy

The alliance promotes a relaxed but structured environment where players can engage in EVE Online without excessive obligation.

The guiding principle is simple:

Enjoy the game, contribute when needed, and respect your fellow pilots.

Summary

SLYCE Alliance exists to provide a positive, flexible, and cooperative environment for EVE Online players.

Its identity is shaped by:

  • Respect for real life priorities
  • Clear but adaptable engagement rules
  • A strong anti-toxic gameplay stance
  • Minimal mandatory requirements outside of key operations

This structure allows member corporations and pilots to thrive while maintaining operational cohesion across the alliance.
